Rome Trip
Trip update - we've been in Rome since Wednesday. Unless you have someone strong to push your wheelchair, do yourself a favor and rent a mobility scooter. There are few curb cuts and accessibily is not good nor easy. If you are American, get a letter from your Dr stating the percentage of your disability, in many places you and a companion get free or reduced admission. Pay for tour guides, two of the ones we used specialized in disabled tours so they knew the route to take. The elavator at the Borghese Gallery is so tiny that you can't fit a wheelchair into it. But you sit in a chair then transfer into a borrowed wheelchair on the 2nd floor. I will be honest, the top floor is all paintings and not much of note but the sculptures on the first floor are worth every penny for admission. Many restaurants are also not easy to get into and very small. LOTS of Cobblestones everywhere. This is the tour company that our travel agent booked us with https://europeodyssey.com/
